DTM-inspired flared fenders, carbon-fiber-reinforced front and rear aprons, and a carbon-fiber decklid spoiler were added to the CLK63 Black Series. This example is finished in Obsidian Black (197) and features bi-xenon headlights, fender vents, headlight washers, window tint, and quadruple polished exhaust outlets. Paint protection film has reportedly been applied to the front end, roof, side skirts, rear spoiler, rear arches, and portions of the rear bumper cover.
19″ AMG alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 265/30 up front and 295/30 at the rear. Adjustable coilovers and AMG Electronic Stability Program (ESP) were standard equipment, and stopping power is provided by multi-piston AMG-branded calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cockpit features bolstered bucket seats trimmed in black Nappa leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. The rear seats were deleted in Black Series models, and appointments include aluminum and carbon-fiber trim, Keyless-Go, AMG-branded floor mats, aluminum pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a CD stereo, and COMAND infotainment with navigation.
A flat-bottom leather-wrapped AMG steering wheel is equipped with paddle shifters and fronts a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 11k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller.
The hand-assembled 6.2-liter M156 V8 was rated at 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift seven-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
