In 2013 the rear wing was rebuilt and repainted, and the car was refinished in 2017 due to fading paint.
The silver-finished 16″ wheels were produced by Ruote O.Z. Racing for Lamborghini, and are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires measuring 205/55 up front and 225/50 out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs, and the brake fluid was flushed in 2020.
The interior features contoured bucket seats upholstered in black leather that extends to the center console, door panels, and portions of the dashboard. Amenities include power windows, a digital clock, an Alpine stereo, and a gated shifter. The air conditioning system was converted to R134a refrigerant in 2020, and the shift knob shows wear.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a 280-km/h speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and five auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 45k kilometers (~28k miles), approximately 40k of which were added under current ownership.
A fire extinguisher is mounted in the front compartment, and a cargo area is located behind the engine.
The mid-mounted 3.5-liter L353 quad-cam V8 received carburetors from the factory and was rebuilt in 2012 by Evans Automotive, of Columbus, Ohio. The rebuilt engine subsequently was installed by Hill’s Automotive & Performance of Webb City, Missouri. Work at that time totaled $54,364 and included installing and programming a Haltech fuel-injection system, replacing the exhaust, changing the fluids, and fitting stainless-steel fuel lines. Service in 2017 included replacing the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs along with repairing an engine mount. Fluid changes were performed in 2020, and work in July 2022 included replacing the fuel injectors and associated seals and gaskets.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
Service receipts totaling approximately $120k date back to 1996 and can be viewed in the galley below.
The initial entry in the Carfax report shows the car was imported to North Carolina in 1986, and it was “declared to meet US highway safety specifications” later that year. The report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration in Missouri beginning in 1991.
