Black 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with Hankook Ventura R-S3 tires that show date codes from 2014. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs with ventilated rotors. Turbo-specification tie rods have been added, and the brake fluid was flushed approximately two years ago.
The bucket seats have been reupholstered and feature black bolsters and pinstriped cloth inserts. Amenities include power windows and an Alpine CD stereo that works intermittently. The removed Blaupunkt head unit is included in the sale, but it does not work. The rear speakers are replacements.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a replacement 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 161k miles, approximately 85k of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the odometer was repaired twice under current ownership, and total mileage is unknown. LED instrumentation lighting has been added.
The 3.0-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection, Carrera-specification chain tensioners, and an airbox pop-off valve, and it was factory rated at 201 horsepower and 197 lb-ft of torque in RoW specification. Recent work has reportedly included overhauling the fuel injection system in 2021 and replacing the battery, starter, distributor cap, rotor, and ignition wires in 2018. The exhaust air injection system has been removed and the ports were plugged. The seller states that compression readings are between 100 psi and 120 psi in each cylinder.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle that was reportedly overhauled in 2010, when the clutch is said to have been replaced.
The VIN engraving shown above matches the dashboard plaque and the South Carolina title, although the importer’s label in the left doorjamb lists WP0ZZZ91ZOS140768 instead.
