This example is said to have been refinished in its current shade of red under previous ownership and features pop-up headlights, a driver-side mirror, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a removable black roof panel, louvered rear quarter windows, an aftermarket antenna, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller notes signs of crazing in the paint along with chips and spots of touch-up as well as dents around the car.
Silver 14″ five-spoke alloy wheels wear older 205/70 Michelin Energy MXV4 tires. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones at each corner, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner. The finish on the wheels shows signs of wear and the seller recommends replacing the tires.
The cockpit features bolstered seats trimmed in tan leather joined by black carpets and beige carpet floor mats. Equipment includes electric windows, a heated rear window, an aftermarket Sony CD stereo and amplifier, and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern. The seats were reportedly reupholstered in 2003 and the seller notes that the air conditioning does not work. Tears in the leather on the left door armrest are shown in the gallery.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure. An analog clock and an oil temperature gauge are mounted to the left of the steering wheel. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with four twin-choke Weber 40DCNF carburetors and was factory rated at 237 horsepower in US specification when new. The carburetors were reportedly rebuilt in 2012 and the seller states that the timing belt should be replaced. The smog pump was removed under previous ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
Stamping F106AS☆29705☆ is visible in the engine compartment and matches the VIN shown on the Colorado title accompanying the car. The manufacturer’s identification plate mounted to the driver’s door jamb shows the VIN as 29705.
