The third-generation RX-7 debuted in the US market for the 1993 model year, and this example is finished in Vintage Red. Fog lights and a rear wiper were included as part of the Touring package, and additional exterior details include pop-up headlights, front fender vents, a power sunroof, and an R1 front lip spoiler. A dent is present behind the rear wheel on the passenger-side quarter panel.
Five-spoke 16″ wheels were manufactured using a squeeze-casting process to reduce weight and are mounted with 225/50 Goodyear Eagle LS tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with four-piston front calipers, and the double-wishbone suspension incorporates forged aluminum control arms.
The cabin features bolstered seats trimmed in tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels, carpets, and RX-7 branded floor mats. Amenities include air conditioning, aluminum pedals, cruise control, and power accessories. The Bose Acoustic Wave subwoofer in the trunk is nonfunctional according to the seller, who notes wear on the driver’s door panel trim, center console, and driver’s seat outer side bolster.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel fronts a central tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline flanked by a 180-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 29k miles, approximately 250 of which have been added by the seller.
The twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter 13B-REW rotary engine produced 255 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque when new. Service performed during current ownership includes installation of NGK spark plugs and wires, an Optima Yellow Top battery, and an oil change. Additional work carried out in September 2022 consisted of replacing the radiator hoses and clamps. Photos of additional replacement components are available in the gallery. The battery cover is missing.
Power is sent to the rear wheels though a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
Owner’s manuals and two keys are included in the sale.
