The trunk lock mechanism was repaired in March 2022, and the soft top was reportedly replaced in July 2022. Photos showing the car with the included hardtop are provided in the gallery.
Steel 14″ wheels wear Ford-branded turbine-style covers and are mounted with 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. Power steering is equipped, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes. A full-size spare wheel and jack are stored in the trunk. The seller states the tires were replaced in September 2019.
The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in pleated red vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Additional amenities include a heater, power windows, glovebox, ashtray, and a push-button Town and Country AM radio, along with rubber Thunderbird-logo floor mats, lap belts for both occupants, engine-turned aluminum trim, and a floor-mounted gear selector.
The factory three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 140-mph speedometer, 5k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges indicating coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows under 1,200 miles completed since the refurbishment, all of which have been added by the seller’s family. Total mileage is unknown.
The 312ci V8 is equipped with dual four-barrel carburetors and was factory rated at 270 horsepower. Features include finned Thunderbird valve covers and a silver-finished air cleaner lid. The oil was changed in March 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission equipped with overdrive.
