The body retains its factory shade of Schwarz (086) and features an Alpina front spoiler, a rear decklid spoiler, and gold-color Alpina graphics. Exterior options include an electrically-operated sunroof, headlight wipers, heated mirrors, green-tinted glass, and a power antenna. A paint correction is said to have been performed following the selling dealer’s acquisition. Alpina 16″ alloy wheels are finished in silver and wear 195/50 Pirelli P7 tires with date codes reading 134 and 154. A matching spare is housed in the trunk compartment. An extra set of steel wheels wearing Hankook Kinergy tires is included in the sale and is shown in the gallery below. The suspension incorporates Bilstein shock absorbers and progressive coil springs. Stopping is handled by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors up front.
The cabin houses Alpina sport seats trimmed in gray cloth accented by offset blue and green stripes with matching upholstery over the rear bench. Additional features include black velour floor mats, an Alpina shift knob, central locking, power windows, venting quarter windows, an onboard computer, and a Blaupunkt Bremen cassette radio. The central locking module is said to have been replaced during current ownership.
The four-spoke MOMO steering wheel features an Alpina hub and sits ahead of a VDO instrument cluster that is said to have been overhauled with a battery-less SI board during current ownership. Instrumentation includes a 270-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a digital Alpina combination meter, and gauges monitoring fuel level, coolant temperature, and fuel economy. The six-digit odometer shows 10k kilometers (~6k miles), approximately 30 of which have been added during current ownership.
The 2.8-liter B6/2 inline-six is said to have been built by Alpina with modifications including lighter Mahle pistons, a performance camshaft, and revised combustion chambers and exhaust components. Factory-rated output was 210 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque. Service following the selling dealer’s acquisition is said to have included fluid changes and replacement of the water pump, thermostat, fuel pump, fuel tank, battery, and ignition components. Compression test results are shown in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Getrag five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 25% lockup.
The composite photo above shows various stampings of the Alpina and BMW VINs as well as the engine number 4967, which matches the number listed on the Alpina Delivery Confirmation certificate shown in the gallery below. A plaque affixed to the dash identifies the car as the 71st B6 2.8/1 built.
