The Z11 package was introduced in early 1969 to outfit a limited run of production convertibles with trim replicating that of the official pace cars built for the 53rd Indianapolis 500. Fewer than 3,700 cars were sold with the option, all finished in Dover White (50) with Z28-style hood and trunk stripes in Hugger Orange. Bright-finished Budnik wheels are mounted with 225/50/ZR16 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires up front and 255/50/ZR17 Nexen N7000 tires out back. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in orange vinyl upholstery with houndstooth cloth inserts as well as matching molded door and side panels. Black carpeting lines the floors. Equipment includes a center console and retractable lap belts. The Z11 RPO required the Custom Interior package, which also added a glovebox light, dash grab handle, bright pedal trim, woodgrain accents, and extra body insulation.
The two-spoke SS steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and a functional cowl-induction hood. The carburetor and engine timing are said to have been adjusted and an oil change was performed in 2022.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. A dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers is installed.
