The 16″ black-painted steel wheels feature red pinstriping, chrome hubcaps, and trim rings, and they are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown bias-ply whitewall tires. Matching spare wheels and hubcaps are mounted under body color covers in the fenders. An independent front suspension setup was new for 1937 Packard models, as were four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
The cabin features a split bench seat that was retrimmed in green leather with red piping under previous ownership in the 2010s. Matching leather covers the interior of the doors, while color-coordinated carpets line the floors. Additional equipment includes a painted woodgrain steel dashboard, dual locking gloveboxes, an AM radio, lap belts for both cabin passengers, and a Packard Deluxe heater.
The banjo-style steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and combination gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The rumble bench seat is trimmed in matching green upholstery with red piping and folds away behind the cabin.
The replacement 473ci V12 was installed in 1991, and sits beneath a side-hinged hood. A single Stromberg EE-3 carburetor is fitted, and power was factory rated at 175 horsepower. The carburetor is said to have been rebuilt in April 2022, and a new battery was also installed at that time.
Engine stamping *905963* on the replacement engine corresponds to a 473ci V12 that was built in 1939.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission with selective synchromesh.
The cowl-mounted VIN tag lists delivery to the Packard Motor Company of Wilmington, Delaware, on December 1, 1936. Documentation from the Packard Registry can be seen in the gallery along with copies of correspondence between previous owners.
