The first-generation Viper was designed in-house at Chrysler by Tom Gale and utilizes composite body panels over a tubular steel space-frame chassis. This example is finished in Viper Black (PX3) and the side sills were repainted silver in 2017. Exterior features include fog lights, a removable soft top, a removable rear window, zip-up vinyl side windows, a forward-opening clamshell hood, side-exit exhaust outlets, and front bumper underside bars. The seller notes that the factory soft top does not fold, the windshield wipers are inoperable, and the fog light covers are missing. Plexiglass partial side windows and a Teamtech bikini top are included in the sale.
The Polished 17″ aluminum five-spoke wheels were sourced from a second-generation Viper and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires that were fitted in 2008 and measure 275/40 up front and 235/35 at the rear. The RT/10 is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel vented disc brakes with RT/10-branded calipers up front. 1995 models were not equipped with ABS.
The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in Quartz leather with a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. Additional equipment includes a heater, air conditioning, a Pioneer CD head unit, a Viper security system, an aftermarket shift knob, and aftermarket pedal covers. The dashboard was repainted in 2017.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are mounted atop the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 14k of which were added under current ownership.
The 8.0-liter OHV V10 was factory rated at 400 horsepower and was fitted with steel head gaskets, silicone intake tubes and radiator hoses, and a billet aluminum oil cap under current ownership. The engine gaskets, oil pan, and spark plugs and wires were reportedly replaced under current ownership as well, and in November 2020 the fuel pump module was rebuilt with a replacement fuel pressure regulator, filter, and pump. An oil change was performed in October 2022. The removed factory intake tubes are included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A Roe Racing exhaust with high-flow catalytic convertors was installed under current ownership.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Pennsylvania, Indiana, California, Kentucky, Florida, and Wisconsin.
