The air-cooled 2,332cc flat-four was reportedly rebuilt by Pat Downs Performance of Dinuba, California, who rated the engine at 145 horsepower when completed. Features include 94mm pistons, performance camshafts, a 26mm Schadek oil pump, twin Kadron carburetors, a CB Performance Magnaspark ignition system, and an external oil cooler with an electric fan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle with a 3.44:1 final drive.
