The third-generation RX-7 was introduced to the North American market for the 1993 model year, and this example is finished in Montego Blue (2A). The Touring Package added a power-operated sunroof, a rear window wiper, and fog lights, while additional features include an R1-style front lip spoiler, pop-up headlights, ventilated front fenders, a rear spoiler, and a power antenna. Flaws on the front valance and the decklid can be seen in the gallery below along with paint meter readings from multiple body panels.
Squeeze-cast 16″ five-spoke wheels are wrapped in 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires that were mounted in March 2023. Standard equipment included a double-wishbone suspension system and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, which were fitted with StopTech rotors, pads, and stainless-steel brake lines in March 2021. The left-front anti-roll bar link and the corresponding anti-roll bar mount were replaced in March 2023. Photos show blemishes on the wheels.
The high-back bucket seats are trimmed in tan leather upholstery and are complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, drilled aluminum clutch and brake pedals, a CD/cassette stereo, and a Bose Acoustic Wave sound system. Flaws including worn seat upholstery, scratches on the door sill plates, and blemishes on the left door panel are shown in the gallery below.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a central tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 42k miles, approximately 250 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The 1.3-liter Wankel rotary engine features sequential twin turbochargers and was factory rated at 255 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque. The oil pan was replaced and a Mishimoto aluminum radiator was installed in 2021, and the hood insulator was replaced in February 2023. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The suspension and underside were cleaned in preparation for the sale.
Manufacturer’s literature, service records from the last five years, and a car cover will accompany the car.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York. A September 1996 entry notes an open manufacturer’s safety recall related to the brake vacuum hose.
