Body-color 15” wheels feature chrome V8-logo hubcaps and are mounted with 225/70 Hankook Optimo H724 tires up front and 235/70 Optimo H725 out back. A full-size spare is found in the rear storage area. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The cabin was lined with Dynamat sound deadening material and houses individual seats trimmed in tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels. Black rubber lines the floors, and the car features a locking glovebox and faux woodgrain trim around the windows.
The two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a painted dashboard housing a 100-mph speedometer surrounded by auxiliary gauges. The seller states that the speedometer was rebuilt, though it remains inoperative, and the five-digit odometer has been reset. Total mileage is unknown.
The 239ci flathead V8 is topped by a single carburetor with an oil-bath air cleaner, and reportedly features a 1942 Mercury block, 59AB cylinder heads, an electric fuel pump, Lincoln valve springs, and an Optima 12-volt battery. The seller notes that the engine and transmission were built by Vern Tardel Enterprises of Santa Rosa, California.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission with a 9″ clutch and pressure plate. The frame was painted black during the refurbishment. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below.
A copy of the May/June 2018 issue of V8 Times magazine featuring the car on the cover is included in the sale.
The car is titled using the chassis number shown above.
