The car was finished from the factory in Cream and is said to have been repainted in metallic brown during prior ownership. The convertible top upholstery is missing from the frame, and equipment includes a beige top boot, full-width chrome bumpers with overriders, driving lights, fender-mounted mirrors, bright trim, a rear-mounted luggage rack, and dual exhaust outlets. Exterior wear includes corrosion on the passenger-side quarter panel, chrome pitting, indentations, paint chips, scratches, and fading throughout.

The convertible top upholstery is missing from the frame, and equipment includes a beige top boot, full-width chrome bumpers with overriders, driving lights, fender-mounted mirrors, bright trim, a rear-mounted luggage rack, and dual exhaust outlets. Exterior wear includes corrosion on the passenger-side quarter panel, chrome pitting, indentations, paint chips, scratches, and fading throughout.
Chrome-finished 16″ wire wheels are secured via two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 6.00×15 Excelsior tires. The brake shoes were re-lined by Valley Friction of North Hollywood, California, and additional work included turning the brake drums and replacement of the master and wheel cylinders.
The interior is said to have been reupholstered during prior ownership and features red vinyl seat upholstery with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. The wood floors were replaced during current ownership, and equipment includes hand-crank side windows, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a glove compartment, a Philips transistorized radio, and aftermarket rear speakers. Carpet fading is noted, and the radio is disconnected.
The four-spoke steering wheel wears a lace-up rim cover and fronts a wood dash housing a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The clock does not work, and the fuel gauge measures inaccurately. The five-digit odometer indicates 12k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 3.4L inline-six features dual-overhead camshafts and was overhauled in 2019 by Steve’s Jaguar Services of Canoga Park, California. A replacement B-type cylinder head was installed, and additional work included the following:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The differential is said to have been overhauled during current ownership with a replacement ring-and-pinion, and additional work included rebuilding the pressure plate. The seller notes a leak from the transmission.
Photos documenting the car as it was discovered in 2018 and various stages of subsequent refurbishment work can be viewed in the gallery.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate details factory colors, equipment, and production information. A tool kit, 1979-dated California registration paperwork, and service records are also include along with the removed cylinder head.
