The body left the factory finished in Ivory (5704) and was reportedly repainted over 30 years ago. The car is equipped with a dealer-installed sliding steel sunroof, and additional features include a driver-side mirror, pop-out quarter windows, tan leather hood straps, and body-color bumpers with European-spec chrome overriders. The removed US-spec bumper guards will accompany the vehicle.
Chrome Rudge-style 15” knock-off wheels are mounted with 195/60 Pirelli P6 tires, and a matching spare is stored in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats trimmed in red leather with a color-coordinated dash topper, door panels, and carpets. Additional appointments include a push-button Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, red front lap belts, and black rubber floor mats.
The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with a 4,500-rpm redline flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer is inoperative and currently shows 88k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four features dual carburetors topped with Knecht air cleaners.
The engine case stamping is shown above, and a photo of the transaxle stamping is viewable in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The exhaust system features dual Magnaflow mufflers connected by a crossover pipe.
A photocopy of the Kardex shows factory colors, optional equipment, a production completion date of March 3, 1959, and delivery via Hoffman in New York.
