A 2004 refurbishment at JK Restorations of Oswego, Illinois included replacing the hood, floor panels, left rocker panel, quarter panels, door skins, chrome trim, gaskets, and seals, as well as repainting the bodywork in factory color of black. Equipment includes split chrome bumpers, stamped hood louvers, and glass headlight covers. Chips are noted around the body, and a front bumper grille guard is included in the sale.
The refinished 15″ chrome wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A matching spare wheel and tire is mounted under the rear cargo floor. Overhauls of the suspension, steering, and braking systems were performed during the 2004 refurbishment, and invoices from the work performed can be seen in the gallery.
The cabin was reupholstered in 2004 and features low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard, center console, sills, door panels, and carpets. The aluminum interior trim has been refinished, and a Blaupunkt radio is installed.
The wood-rim steering wheel has been refinished, and instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, and center-mounted auxiliary gauges. The odometer was reset during the refurbishment and now shows 950 miles. The total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU side-draft carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower. The engine was rebuilt by JK Restorations during the 2004 refurbishment, as were the carburetors, fan motor, distributor, starter, heater, wiper motor, heater, and half shafts. The wiring harness, radiator, water pump, hoses, and filters were replaced. Recent service reportedly consisted of replacing the battery, coolant hoses, and clutch master and slave cylinders. The cylinder head stamping matches the number listed on the Heritage Trust certificate.
The four-speed manual transmission has also been rebuilt, and a stainless steel Bell exhaust system is fitted. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
A service manual is included in the sale, along with a selection of tools, car cover, maintenance chart and CD, keys, and refurbishment records and photos.
