Steel 15” wheels show rust and wear chrome hubcaps and beauty rings. 165-series Michelin tires are mounted at all four corners. The suspension is equipped with a Bus Boys lowering kit and KYB Gas-a-Just shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The cab features a bench seat trimmed in brown vinyl that wears an aftermarket gray vinyl cover. Additional appointments include replacement gray door panels as well as red lap belts and black rubber floor mats. Corrosion and wear on interior surfaces can be viewed in the gallery.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a replacement 70-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. An analog clock is mounted on the right side of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles. Approximately 25k miles are said to have been added under current ownership, and true mileage is unknown.
The rear passenger compartment features a bench seat trimmed in gray vinyl. The window frames show discoloration, and images of the floor under the rubber mat are presented in the gallery.
According to the seller, the replacement 1.6L flat-four was sourced from a 1974 Super Beetle and is equipped with an Engle camshaft and twin Kadron carburetors. The battery was replaced in January 2022, and the fuel pump, filter, and supply hoses were reportedly replaced in July 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transaxle that is said be from a 1969 Beetle. Corrosion is visible on underbody components, which can be viewed in the gallery.
The removed engine and transaxle are included in the sale and shown in the gallery. The engine number stamping on the removed engine is shown above.
