The 3.8-liter inline-six is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment and is equipped with triple SU carburetors and a lower-degree camshaft.
Cylinder-head stamping RA1922-9 matches the engine number listed on the chassis plate and on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. The same number appears to be stamped into the engine block, as pictured in the gallery below.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date of May 1, 1963, and initial distribution by Jaguar Cars of New York along with original colors, equipment, and serial numbers.
