Knock-off 15″ wheels are mounted with 670-15 Firestone tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black leather as well as color-matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 327ci L76 V8 was equipped from the factory with a Holley four-barrel carburetor for a factory rating of 365 horsepower. The seller reports that service completed under current ownership includes replacing the valve cover gasket, water pump gasket, oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket, rear main seal, and thermostat. The carburetor was rebuilt in June 2021, and an oil change and coolant flush were completed at that time.
The engine stamping includes sequence 114958, which matches the last six digits of the vehicle’s serial number. The RE suffix corresponds with a 365-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service in 2018 included replacing the clutch pack, transmission mounts, and gaskets, per the seller.
