The car was delivered from the factory in Irish Green, and the seller notes that the front fenders were refinished approximately 50 years ago following rust repairs. Features include a Talbot Berlin-style mirror, a twin-grille deck lid, a luggage rack, and exhaust tips that terminate through the bumper overriders. Ventilated 15″ wheels wear Porsche-crest hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Service completed since 2015 is said to include rebuilding the calipers and replacing the rear rotors.
The interior features front bucket seats and folding rear seats trimmed in Fawn vinyl along with a VDO clock and a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. The removed Blaupunkt Manhattan radio is included in the sale.
A three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and sits ahead of green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a centrally mounted tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles and is said to have rolled over. Approximately 16k miles have been added during current ownership, and total mileage is unknown.
The seller notes that the flat-four was overhauled in 1984, and its displacement was increased to 1,720cc at that time. The dual carburetors were reportedly adjusted in 2022. Service since 2019 is said to include replacing the spark plugs, gaskets, and fuel lines as well as adjusting the valves.
The engine-case stamping reads P☆717494☆ and matches the number shown on the accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
