In 2015, the car was reportedly stripped to the bare metal, body imperfections were repaired, and a repaint was performed in Daimler Silver Grey. Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by three-lobed knock-off hubs and are mounted with Coker Classic redline tires. The front and rear suspension components were refreshed with new shock absorbers, bushings, and hardware. The four-wheel disc brakes were also overhauled during the refurbishment with rebuilt calipers as well as new pads and rotors.
The bucket seats are upholstered in red leather with matching door panels, sills, and carpeting along with a contrasting black dashboard. Amenities include air conditioning, a locking glove box, lap seatbelts, a rebuilt clock, and a factory Blaupunkt AM/FM/shortwave radio. The seller states the air conditioning compressor was replaced.
A wood-rim steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a rebuilt 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure are housed in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual overhead camshafts and is fueled by dual Stromberg carburetors. The seller states the engine was rebuilt during the 2015 refurbishment that included removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the hardware. The alternator, starter, and cooling system were also rebuilt at this time. The fan motors were disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated before being refinished.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the factory colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
