Originally ordered in Candyapple Red (T5), the body was media-blasted prior to being refinished during current ownership and features white GT500 side stripes. Exterior details include a chin spoiler, an integrated rear spoiler, Lucas driving lights with lens covers, a vented hood with NACA-style hood inlets, quarter-panel scoops, chrome bumpers, body-color mirror caps, and center-exit dual exhaust outlets.
Five-spoke 15″ wheels with polished lips wear black Shelby center caps and are mounted with 235/60 Pirelli P600 tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. A space-saver spare and jack are mounted in the trunk. The Koni shock absorbers and tires were replaced during current ownership, and the front suspension, steering box, power brake booster, master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, and front calipers were reportedly rebuilt during the refurbishment.
The cabin features high-back front bucket seats and a Sport Deck folding rear seat upholstered in white vinyl joined by a color-coordinated headliner and door panels. Additional equipment includes a roll bar, a padded center console, faux teak wood trim, Shelby-branded emblems, shoulder belts for the front occupants, and a clock mounted to the right side of the dashboard. The glovebox door was reportedly signed by Carroll Shelby. The dashboard was refurbished, and the wiring harnesses, seals, weatherstrips, and upholstery were replaced. The radio does not work, and the air conditioning belt was removed.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer flanked by coolant temperature and fuel level gauges, while an oil pressure gauge and ammeter are mounted in a pod ahead of the shifter. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 81k miles, approximately 15k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 428ci Cobra Jet V8 was reportedly rebuilt during current ownership and features a Holley 735 CFM carburetor, a solid-state distributor, as well as an aluminum intake manifold, cylinder heads, and a Ron Davis radiator with dual electric puller fans. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear axle with 3.00:1 gearing. A dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers is installed.
Documentation accompanying the car includes a reproduction sales invoice, Shelby order invoice, an owner’s manual, service records, and an Elite Marti Report.
