The replacement 496ci V8 is equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and throttle body as well as an Xtreme Energy camshaft, an aluminum radiator and cylinder heads, ceramic-coated headers, aftermarket exhaust components, and an Edelbrock intake manifold. The engine was overhauled under prior ownership, which included replacing the pistons, connecting rods, and main, rod, and camshaft bearings. An oil change was performed and the spark plugs and wires were replaced in 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2019 and an Eaton PosiTraction differential. An aftermarket fuel tank is fitted under the bed, and the filler spout is mounted in the bed.
