Refurbished 15″ Fuchs wheels feature polished spokes and wear 185/70 Avon radial tires all around. The suspension was overhauled with new rubber bushings, wheel bearings, struts, Koni shocks, and refinished factory hardware, while the braking system was serviced with refurbished brake calipers and new rotors. A four-wheel alignment and a corner balance were subsequently performed.
The interior features seats upholstered in black leatherette along with a replacement Porsche Classic dashboard and velour carpets. The door panels were replaced and received rebuilt pockets and handles, while additional work consisted of refinishing the rear-side panels and rear deck. Features include a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, fold-down rear seats, and Coco floor mats.
A leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and supplemental instrumentation in a pair of combination housings. The five-digit odometer shows 86k miles, approximately 1,800 of which are said to have been added since the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown. The pedals were stripped, recoated, and fitted with bronze bushings along with new springs, cables, spacers, and hardware, while the gauges were restored and a quartz clock was installed.
The flat-six was rebuilt to displace 2.5 liters with work that included refinishing the crankcase, boring the cylinders to 86mm, and adding a 2.4/2.7 crankshaft along with installing 9.5:1 JE pistons, Mod-S camshafts, and new gaskets. Additional work consisted of rebuilding the mechanical fuel injection pump and throttle bodies. An engine stamping number and the results of a compression test are viewable in the gallery. Service performed in October 2021 included re-torquing the head studs and changing the engine oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 911/01 five-speed manual transaxle. The stock heat exchangers reportedly remain fitted and pair of Dansk stainless-steel mufflers were coated and installed. Additional underbody photographs are provided in the gallery.
The chassis was refreshed by Automobile Associates of Canton in Connecticut in 2014, and photos of the body and mechanical work in progress are viewable in the gallery below along with receipts and documentation. Additional details of the build are provided via Early 911S forums and Pelican Parts found here and here.
