The interior was refreshed in March 2021 with replacement leather seat upholstery, carpets, a headliner, and trunk trim. The dashboard and tops of the door panels were trimmed in brown leather at that time. Features include power-adjustable Porsche 928 seats, a replacement parking brake handle, and a CD player paired with aftermarket speakers. In November 2021, the heater box was repaired and the heater control valve was replaced.
The wood-rimmed four-spoke MOMO steering wheel is complemented by a matching shift knob and sits ahead of VDO instrumentation, and a trio of additional VDO gauges have been added to the center stack. The five-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over and now shows 15k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.0-liter inline-four features Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection, and Mahle pistons were installed during a 1988 engine rebuild by Bavarian Rennsport of San Diego. The cylinder head was replaced in 1998 by Belmont Motor Works in Belmont, California, and additional work at the same service included polishing the induction system and valve cover, replacing the radiator, and refinishing the engine bay. In October 2018, an electronic ignition system was installed, the coolant was changed, and the fuel-injection drive belt was replaced along with the fuel pump and water pump pulley. The idle was adjusted in March 2021.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. In 2021, the secondary clutch cylinder was replaced, the differential was resealed, and the differential gear fluid was changed. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
