The suspension gaiters, bump stops, various hydraulic seals, and return line unions were also replaced. A single-spoke steering wheel frames oval Jaeger instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer with stopping distance marks and a replacement tachometer with a 1:2 ignition correction module. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. The automatic windshield wipers were fitted with a replacement delay rheostat. A Bluetooth amplifier in the ashtray drives the factory speakers using the stock wiring. A Motorola AM/FM radio is retained in the center console, though it is not connected to the antenna.
The replacement V6 was assembled by David Hume of Excelsior Motors in Kentucky, who combined a 2.7-liter block with cylinder heads from a 3.0-liter engine that were rebuilt with new stainless steel exhaust valves and guides. Additional work included installation of updated timing chains and a new tensioner, ultrasonic cleaning and rebuilds of the three Weber carburetors, refreshment of the cooling fans, electrical repairs, and adjustment of the ignition system, which utilizes a GM HEI odd-fire distributor.
