Silver 15″ cast-aluminum “cookie cutter” wheels were refinished during the refurbishment and are mounted with 185/65 Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 tires. Replacement shocks, control arms, bushings, and wheel bearings were installed during the refurbishment along with adjustable rear trailing arms. The four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled with replacement calipers, rotors, pads, lines, and parking brake assemblies.
The front bucket seats and rear individual seats were reupholstered in 2020 in tan leatherette and are joined by a color-matching dash pad as well as replacement door panels and carpets. Additional equipment includes a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo, a 917-style shift knob, hand-crank windows, and a cabin heater. The pedal cluster was refurbished as well as replacing the control cables.
The three-spoke sports steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 137k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.7-liter flat-six was rebuilt in 2020 by Ross Motorsports of Paragon, Indiana, with work including refurbishing the cylinder heads, replacing the head studs, CDI ignition, fuel pump, accumulator, fuel distributor, and fuel injectors as well as installing pressure-fed chain tensioners and refinishing the engine tin. The engine weeps oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, which was refurbished by Ross Motorsports along with replacing the shift linkage, bushings, axles, and transmission mounts. Back-dated SSI Stainless-steel heat exchangers have been installed along with a Dansk stainless-steel muffler. The factory thermal reactors have been removed.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows factory colors, identification numbers, and optional equipment.
