The car was originally finished in Guards Red (027), and the selling dealer notes that repairs were performed in April 1998 after the car was damaged in a fire. Work included replacing the bumpers, mirrors, glass, and various seals and trim elements as well as repairing body panels and repainting the car. A related invoice is shown in the gallery below. Additional damage to the roof has been repaired, reportedly after an object was dropped on the car approximately 20 years ago. A dent is noted in the engine lid, two of the corner-marker lights do not work, and the left fog lamp does not work. Chips in the rocker panels and a dent beneath one of the bumpers are shown up close in the gallery below.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with Yokohama A-008P tires, and the rear tires are worn. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The brake fluid is dark, a front brake cooling duct is torn, and the front shocks are sweating.
The seats are upholstered in white leather, and the cabin features matching door panels as well as a black dashboard and carpets. Amenities include a JVC stereo, Pioneer door speakers, cassette-tape storage, power windows, and a heater. Additional speakers have been added behind the front seats. The air-conditioning system has been converted to use R134a refrigerant, but it does not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,700-rpm redline, a replacement 180-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, boost pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 30k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six features an aftermarket boost controller and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. An oil change was performed in January 2020, when the valve cover gaskets were replaced. The air filter is dirty, and fluid leaks are noted from the valve covers.
