Silver-finished 15″ basketweave alloy wheels were mounted with 225/50 Kumho ECSTA AST tires in January 2022. The front shock towers were reinforced, and Ground Control adjustable coilovers were added, along with strengthened rear sway bar mounts, Group N rear subframe bushings, front and rear strut brace bars, and Dinan rear trailing arm adjusters. The four-wheel disc braking system with stainless steel lines was fitted with new rotors, pads, sensors, and fluid also in January 2022.
The cabin features bolstered bucket seats trimmed in beige leather with color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Equipment includes power windows, a short shifter, an analog clock, an onboard computer, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. Wear is visible on the left driver’s seat bolster and two holes in the lower dashboard to the left of the steering column.
The three-spoke M-Tech I steering wheel with a stitched-on cover fronts VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, an aftermarket shift light, as well as gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 50k miles.
The replacement Sport Evolution 2.5-liter S14B25 inline-four was rebuilt by Don Fields at Mr. M Car of Farmingdale, New Jersey. A seller-provided list notes that work consisted of boring the cylinders to 95mm, porting the cylinder head, cleaning the oil passages, along with installing lightweight wrist pins, upgraded pistons, Schrick camshafts, gapless rings, Sport Evolution main and rod bearings, a Sport Evolution oil pump, throttle assembly, exhaust manifold, and intake trumpets, a BMW Motorsport adjustable fuel pressure regulator, adjustable cam gears, an oversized oil filter, and GSP ignition wires and exhaust system. Work carried out in January 2022 by Craftsman Auto Care consisted of replacing the fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, water pump, belts, coolant expansion tank, thermostat, coolant hoses, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, and fluids.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt close-ratio Getrag G265 dogleg five-speed manual gearbox with a Sachs clutch kit along with a limited-slip differential. The catalytic convertor is currently removed from the exhaust system and replaced with a 3″ exhaust with custom “V” band clamp arrangement. Additional underbody photos are included in the gallery.
