The car was delivered new in Salmon Silver Metallic and was reportedly repainted the current shade of silver during prior ownership. Additional details include an electric sunroof, a rear spoiler, fog lights, painted mirror caps, twin exhaust outlets, and wider fenders compared to the standard E30. The right side of the front splitter is loose.
The 16″ basketweave wheels feature BMW center caps and are mounted with 225/45 Toyo Proxes R1R tires. The MacPherson strut/semi-trailing arm suspension was revised for the M3 with a thicker rear anti-roll bar as well as shorter and stiffer springs. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the car is equipped with H&R lowering springs, Bilstein rear shocks, and adjustable front and rear sway bars.
The cabin features manually adjustable front sport seats as well as a rear bench upholstered in gray leather upholstery and complemented by color-coordinated carpets and door panels. M3-branded floor mats line the footwells, and amenities include an onboard computer, a Pioneer CD stereo, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. A replacement air conditioning compressor was reportedly fitted in 2020.
The steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 218k miles, approximately 800 of which were added under current ownership. A mileage inconsistency is noted in an August 2000 entry of the Carfax report, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.3 liter S14 inline-four was reportedly rebuilt in 2016 and fitted with forged pistons, a JB Racing flywheel, and a Turner Conforti performance chip.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned mileage inconsistency in August 2000 and lists history in California, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Georgia, and Illinois from the initial entry in June 1991 through the most recent entry in July 2020.
