The design of the 348 was overseen by Pininfarina chief stylist Leonardo Fioravanti and was the final V8-powered Ferrari model developed under the direction of Enzo Ferrari. This example is finished in Blu Sera with black lower-body panels and features a removable black roof panel, pop-up headlights, fog lights, side air intakes, louvered taillights, and quad exhaust outlets. The front end is believed to have been repainted during prior ownership, and paint measure readings are provided in the gallery below.
The 17″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires measuring 215/50 in the front and 255/45 at the rear. Stopping power is provided by anti-lock disc brakes with Ferrari-branded calipers over ventilated rotors at all four corners.
The bucket seats are upholstered in blue leather and are joined by a color-coordinated lower dashboard, carpets, and door panels. An Alpine head unit is linked to JL Audio speakers and an Alpine amplifier, and additional equipment includes a dogleg-pattern gated shifter, a heated rear window, and power windows and door locks. The air conditioning control unit on the dash works intermittently, various interior surfaces and buttons are sticky to the touch, leather shrinkage is located on the driver’s door panel, and wear is visible on the driver’s seat.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. Auxiliary gauges for oil temperature and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 28k miles.
The 3.4-liter quad-cam Tipo F119 V8 features Bosch Motronic engine management and was factory rated at 296 horsepower and 238 lb-ft of torque. An October 2018 engine-out service was performed by Taormina Imports of San Carlos, California, and consisted of a valve adjustment along with replacing the timing belts and tensioner bearings, coolant hoses, engine gaskets and seals, water pump, thermostat, fuel and air filters, air conditioning belt, spark plugs, alternator, and battery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
