The car left the factory finished in Montego Blue and was repainted in 2018. It features pop-up headlights, fog lights, fender vents, and a rear wiper. The Carfax report lists “minor damage” to the front end in 2019 and 2020. The front bumper assembly was reportedly replaced in 2018. The front and rear badges are missing.
Five-spoke 16″ alloy wheels were manufactured using a squeeze casting process to reduce weight and wear 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact tires with 2015 date codes. The car features forged aluminum suspension components, Koni shocks that were fitted in 2022, and anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes with Mazda-branded four-piston calipers up front. The seller notes the rear brake pads were replaced and the rotors resurfaced in 2020.
The cabin features manually-adjustable bolstered seats that were reupholstered in tan leather in March 2019, and the matching carpets were replaced at this time. Amenities include air conditioning, a Kenwood CD stereo, a sunroof, power windows, and cruise control. A warning light for an aftermarket Viper alarm system is mounted in the center console. The center console storage compartment lid is missing, and the shift knob is worn.
A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 97k miles, approximately 95k of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter 13B rotary engine was installed by Lucky 7 Racing in Duarte, California, in 2019 at approximately 89k miles. The air conditioning system was serviced with a refrigerant recharge and a replacement receiver drier in 2019.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The clutch was replaced at the same time as the engine work. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
Included in the sale is an owner’s manual and service records for work completed under current ownership.
