The car is finished in Silver Stone Metallic and is equipped with pop-up headlights, fog lights, a power-operated sunroof, a rear window wiper, vented front fenders, and power-operated side mirrors. The Carfax report indicates that the car was involved in a rear-end collision in April 2005. The seller states that the rear body panel was subsequently replaced, and paintwork was previously completed on the left-front fender around 1997. A ding is visible in the left quarter panel, and additional photos of the exterior and trim condition are provided in the gallery below.
Silver-finished 16″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with a combination of 225/50 Yokohama S325 and Yokohama YK420 tires. The car is equipped with double wishbone suspension, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The seller notes that the left-rear tire leaks air.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include cruise control, power windows and door locks, RX-7-branded floor mats, storage compartments located behind the seats, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. Wear is shown on the driver’s outer seat bolster, the air conditioning system is inoperative, there is a chip on the edge of the driver’s window, and the seller notes that the Bose sound system is in need of repairs.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 117k miles.
The seller states that the twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter rotary engine was replaced in 2003 along with the turbochargers and engine control unit. The car most recently passed the California emissions test in February 2022, the results of which can be viewed in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential.
The windows sticker lists initial delivery to Auburn Crossroads Mazda in Auburn, California, as well as colors, options, and a total vehicle price of $35,995.
