The 850CSi featured revised front and rear valances as well as a lowered ride height compared to other E31 coupes. This example is finished in Bright Red (314) and features pop-up headlamps with washers, M-design side mirrors, an electric sunroof, and quad exhaust outlets. The rear model badging has been removed and paint chips are noted above the grille and on the mirror covers.
Multi-piece 17″ BBS wheels wear General G-Max AS-05 tires. The CSi featured a modified suspension with stiffer springs and dampers compared to the standard 850, and European-market examples were equipped with upgraded brakes and four-wheel steering with an active rear axle. Marks are noted on one of the wheels and close-up photos of the wheel condition are provided in the gallery below.
The cabin features power-adjustable heated front bucket seats and individual rear seats upholstered in black leather while wood veneer trim accents the center console. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, an M-branded shift knob, a BMW Professional cassette stereo linked to a trunk-mounted CD changer, a Hi-Fi sound system, and an onboard computer.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a replacement instrument cluster consisting of a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 190-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer shows 34k miles.
The 5.6-liter S70B56 V12 features Bosch Motronic fuel injection and an engine oil cooler, and it was factory rated at 375 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a differential oil cooler.
German-language manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale.
The car is fitted with a substitute US VIN that is displayed above.
