Silver 18″ aluminum wheels are mounted with 265/40 Bridgestone g-Force T/A tires. The Cobra R package specified an independent rear suspension system along with Bilstein dampers, stiffer Eibach springs, and larger anti-roll bars. The car is equipped with a power steering cooler, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with four-piston Brembo front calipers.
The cabin features manually adjustable Recaro sport seats upholstered in black cloth. Interior appointments include a leather-wrapped shift knob as well as power windows, mirrors, and door locks. To save weight, the Cobra R was not equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, a stereo, a rear seat, or sound-deadening materials.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 500 miles.
The 5.4-liter DOHC V8 features forged aluminum pistons, performance camshafts, and an aluminum radiator. Factory-rated output was 385 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque when new. The oil was changed in 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a tremor six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An aluminum flywheel was fitted as standard equipment. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery below.
