The Carfax report indicates that the car was inspected in June 2003 following damage to the right-rear corner. Separation is noted of the soft-top window, which has creases, and other imperfections include paint chips and scratches as well as missing color from the hood roundel. The 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control and All-Season Traction (AST), and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.
The cabin features Dark Grey and black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, a CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The seller notes a rectangular discoloration on the dashboard. Part of the right climate-control vent is missing, and the Harman Kardon emblem on the subwoofer is cracked. An imperfection in the center console is said to have been caused by a leaky self-dimming mirror, and a manually dimming mirror is currently installed. A glovebox reinforcement plate has been installed.
The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 170-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 25k miles, approximately 3,500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.2-liter S54B32 inline-six features double-VANOS variable valve timing and a Siemens MSS 54 engine management control system. Output was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Fluids services were performed approximately 3k miles ago, and the battery was replaced in 2017. The most recent oil change was carried out in 2019.
