The car is said to have been previously finished in silver and was repainted during current ownership in a red, black, and white scheme designed to mimic the livery on the Mustang Boss 302 raced in Trans Am by George Follmer in 1969. Exterior elements include a carbon-fiber front bumper cover with an aluminum support, a vented hood with hold-downs, an AJ Hartman Aero carbon-fiber front splitter and wing, Professional Awesome splitter rods and brackets, carbon-fiber fender flares, a polycarbonate windshield, and Lexan rear windows. The headlights have been removed, and exterior wear is present throughout. The Carfax report shows that the car was declared a total loss following flood damage in May 2013.
Silver 18″ Apex alloy wheels measure 11″ in width and are mounted with 315/30 BFGoodrich g-Force R1 tires. The car is said to have been used for development of Kenny Brown Performance’s K-Link rear suspension system, which is fitted along with the following components:
The seller states the front struts were overhauled in 2019, and the front brake rotor friction rings are in need of replacement.
The interior has been partially stripped and features a NASCAR-style roll cage and two OMP HTR fixed-back bucket seats with Schroth harnesses. An electrical panel is positioned in the passenger-side footwell area, and additional features include an SPA FireSense fire-suppression system, a custom center-stack switch panel, CoolShirt components, and LED interior lighting.
A Ford Racing-branded Sparco steering wheel features a quick-release mount and frames a replacement instrument cluster as well as an AIM MXL digital display and data logger. Additional auxiliary gauges are mounted centrally on the dashboard, and the digital odometer indicates 34k miles. The Carfax report lists a potential odometer rollback in April 2015, and true mileage is unknown.
The factory 4.0-liter V6 was removed and replaced with a second-generation 5.0L Coyote V8 during current ownership. The engine has been modified and features a later-model intake manifold, a Moroso 10-quart oil pan, a Setrab auxiliary oil cooler, Kook’s tubular headers, a SCT ECU tuner, a PMAS cold-air intake, a Peterson Fluid Systems PCV breather and catch can, a Ford Racing aluminum radiator, and a stainless-steel mesh oil filter. The seller states that the engine and transmission have been lowered approximately 1.5″ from the standard position, and a fluid service was reportedly performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed Tremec Magnum XL close-ratio manual transmission and a 4.10:1 rear end with a Torsen limited-slip differential, which were reportedly sourced from a later-model Mustang Boss 302. The transmission is said to have been overhauled, and external oil coolers with quick-disconnect fittings have been installed on the transmission and rear end. Additional modifications include an Exedy clutch kit.
An assortment of spare parts and wheels is included in the sale.
