The RS4 features a wider track with flared fenders, aluminum front-end bodywork, and revised side skirts, bumper covers, and mirror caps when compared to the standard A4. This example was ordered in Imola Yellow, and the Carfax lists damage occurring in May 2021 that the selling dealer states is associated with the car being repainted at that time to correct faded clearcoat. The Premium Package added a light and rain sensor as well as auto-dimming mirrors with memory functions, and additional equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, a sunroof, rear parking sensors, and dual exhaust outlets.
Silver-finished 19″ double-spoke wheels are mounted with 255/35 Pirelli P Zero tires. Standard RS4 equipment includes RS-logo eight-piston front calipers and 14.4″ front rotors, and the Dynamic Ride Control system has been disabled on this example and the suspension replaced with KW V3 coilover components. A January 2021 service included replacing the brake rotors, pads, and pad sensors along with the front and rear control arms, sway bar end links, and wheel speed sensors. The brake fluid was flushed and the power steering fluid was replaced at the same time.
The heated and power-adjustable Recaro front seats are trimmed in black Silk Nappa leather with contrasting piping and debossed RS4 logos, while carbon-fiber trim accents the cabin. The shift knob, shift boot, and surrounding trim were replaced in January 2022. The Premium Package added a Homelink remote transmitter, Bluetooth phone preparation, position memory for the driver’s seat, heated rear seats, a six-disc CD changer mounted in the glovebox, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass, and power rear and manual side sunshades. The car is also equipped with navigation, an Audi Symphony II stereo, a Bose sound system, cruise control, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The European-specification flat-bottom steering wheel installed during current ownership is wrapped in perforated leather and accented by silver trim, and it frames a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 53k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter FSI V8 was factory rated at 420 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The intake manifold was removed and walnut-blast carbon cleaning was performed in January 2021, at which time the throttle body gasket, primary oxygen sensor, oil separator, and exhaust heat shielding were replaced and a Milltek Sport exhaust system was installed. Vacuum hoses and the intake manifold gaskets were replaced in August 2022.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a rear-biased Quattro all-wheel-drive system with asymmetric dynamic torque distribution. A VAST Performance kevlar clutch kit and replacement flywheel were fitted in January 2022.
2022 records totaling nearly $20k in service are displayed in the gallery below.
