DTM-inspired bodywork on the CLK63 Black Series included wider flared fenders, carbon-fiber-reinforced front and rear aprons, and a carbon-fiber decklid spoiler. This example is finished in Black (040U) and features bi-xenon headlights, heated side mirrors, fender vents, and quad polished exhaust outlets. The rear bumper is said to have received a partial repaint, and paint protection film has been applied to the rear fender flares, the forward section of the front fender flares, and a portion of the front hood down to the lip of the bumper. Abrasions on the underside of the front splitter and paint chips on the body are pictured below in the gallery.
The 19″ AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels have been refinished and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires measuring 265/35 at the front front and 285/35 out back. Adjustable coilovers and AMG Electronic Stability Program (ESP) came standard, and stopping power is provided by multi-piston AMG-branded calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. The rear tires were replaced in July 2022.
The cockpit features bolstered bucket seats trimmed in black Nappa leather along with a color-matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The rear seats were deleted in Black Series models, and additional amenities include aluminum and carbon-fiber trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Keyless-Go, a Harman Kardon sound system, and COMAND infotainment with navigation. An integrated Escort 9500ci radar detector was installed under previous ownership. A scuff is noted on the carbon-fiber shifter surround.
The flat-bottom leather-wrapped AMG steering wheel is equipped with paddle shifters and frames a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 18k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The hand-assembled 6.2-liter M156 V8 was factory rated at 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift seven-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. An oil change was performed in December 2021.
